Tentative Agreement with the City of Philadelphia Ratified 8-9-2024
AFSCME Local 2187 & 2186 City Family,
We want to express our immense appreciation to every member who participated in the recent ratification process for our Tentative Agreement with the City of Philadelphia. We are pleased to announce that our membership has voted in the affirmative to ratify the agreement. Your involvement has been critical, and we are grateful for your dedication and commitment to our Union’s future.
As a result of this ratification, we will be sending further communication regarding the implementation of the wage increases and leave benefits that will soon go into effect. Please keep an eye on your inbox for these important updates.
Overall Numbers:
Total Member Votes: 2021 (56.3% of city membership)
67.14% YES Votes: 1357
32.01% NO Votes: 647
0.84% ABSTAIN Votes: 17
Local 2186 Numbers:
Total Member Votes: 575
73.39% YES Votes: 422
25.74% NO Votes: 148
0.87% ABSTAIN Votes: 5
Local 2187 Numbers:
Total Member Votes: 1446
64.66% YES Votes: 935
34.51% NO Votes: 499

In total 2,021 members cast their votes (56.3% of city membership), making their voices heard. Regardless of whether they voted yes or no, this voter turnout is unprecedented in our Union’s history. These results send a clear message:
our members are more engaged, committed, and stronger than ever!
We are confident that our membership is prepared for the challenges ahead, and we look forward to standing together as we implement our campaign for a fair, just, and robust contract in 2025.
